The Couple’s Vision

Eloise and Emily wanted their wedding day to feel like a celebration in every sense of the word, joyful, unapologetically colourful, and completely their own. Rather than the soft, muted palette so often associated with garden-style weddings, the brides asked for something bolder: a rainbow of blooms in blues, oranges, pinks, purples and buttery yellows, woven through with plenty of fresh greenery to keep the whole design feeling organic and true to its forest surrounds. The result was a day that was as vibrant and warm as the two of them together.

Venue: The Burrow

Tucked into the tall timber and fern-lined trails of Daylesford, The Burrow provided the perfect backdrop for a colourful, nature-led celebration. The dappled bushland setting did a lot of the work on its own, so our brief was simple: let the florals sing without fighting the landscape. Deep greens from the surrounding forest became the canvas, with the wildflower palette layered on top for maximum impact against the timber and greenery.

Floral Design Details

For the ceremony, we built a lush, oversized arch dressed in soft white drapery and dripping with our signature faux blooms, garden roses, ranunculus, delphinium, dahlias and sweet pea in every colour of the brief, mixed through with trailing eucalyptus and fresh greenery for movement and texture. It framed the aisle beautifully and gave Eloise and Emily a genuine "wow" moment as they exchanged their vows among the trees.

The brides carried oversized, just-picked-from-the-garden style bouquets packed with the same joyful mix of colour, finished with loose, natural stems rather than a tight, formal shape, a look that suited the relaxed, romantic feel of the day perfectly.

The reception continued the story outdoors, with soft white drapery layered across the roofline to soften the space and add a touch of romance as the light changed through the evening. Down the length of the tables, we kept things simple and elegant: a scatter of bud vases in mixed heights, each holding a single colourful stem, alternated with flickering candles for warmth. It was an understated tablescape that let the colour and the candlelight do the talking, and tied the whole reception back to the same lush, garden-grown palette from the ceremony.

Why Everlasting Flowers?

Every bloom used across Eloise and Emily's day was a hand-finished faux flower. Chosen not just for its colour-true accuracy (a real challenge to source fresh in some of these hues) but so the brides could keep their arch florals, bouquets and centrepieces as lasting keepsakes long after the day itself. No wilting in the Daylesford weather, no compromise on colour, and a beautiful reminder of their wedding day for years to come.
